Together with the sister Nina she was a student at schools that included First Nations children as well as students from different countries. Isabel is currently living in Byron Bay NSW Australia. Isabel began acting in school. When she graduated from Queensland University of Technology she continued her studies in acting at the Victorian College of Arts. Also, she has recently completed an PEM Method program (Perdekamp Emotional Method) study. Her auditions were not for parts until her agent found her in 2002. She auditioned for a role on Home and Away (1988). The producers felt she was not right to play the part, but they found her impressive enough to develop an entirely new role for Tasha. The actress played her first TV part for three seasons. Her performance was lauded and she received an award called the Logie Award. Isabel relocated from New York to Los Angeles from New York in the year 2008. Her first big role came from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). In the years since she has appeared in and received awards for her work in numerous US productions as well as Australian productions. Isabel was recently seen on Bosh & Rockit a film rapidly becoming an Australian famous film, and in the thriller set to be released soon Lunacy. Isabel just finished Sons of Summer. She is also in the pre-production process for her part as Marie Curie with award winning director and writer Annika Glas.
